I hope to be able to go (if my daughter will agree to letting me sleep on her floor!) So, I’ll definitely see Janette there. Anyone else going?
Graham.
I plan to be there – or hope, not sure which is the right word.
Still waiting to see a list of events to make final bookings.

Janette, Terry,
I’ve just looked through the programme and picked my events. Sadly almost everything I’d like to go to is ticketed. So I’ve bought tickets to four workshops which run back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday. Things of interest on the other days were too thin on the ground to make it work showing up. So I’ll go up to Brissy on Friday 19th and come back on Monday 22nd. I might be able to catch ‘A Life of Crime’ at 3:20 on Friday but, if not, my four workshops are:
Saturday:
AM – Crime Writing with Michael Robotham
PM – So you want to be an author? with Jeremy Fisher
Sunday:
AM – Narrative Strategies with James Frenkel
PM – The Structure of Structure with Steven Galloway
All four of them are in SLQ meeting room 1b.
How does this mesh with your itineraries?
The timing of things means that quick lunchtime meet-ups are possible, maybe even quick breakfasts, but the most civilised times would be late afternoons and evenings.
Graham.
Graham.
Still figuring out the weekend but have booked into Margo Lanagan’s session on Wednesday (I’m flying up Tuesday so that works well for me). Hoping to do Jeremy Fisher’s session, depends on non-Festival commitments.
I’m also thinking of putting in submissions for James Frenkel’s all-day masterclass on the Thursday and/or Debra Adelaide’s creative/critical reading workshop.
will keep you posted!
Janette
Hmmm. The masterclass looked good but I couldn’t bring myself to spend $200 on it!
Graham E. Scrooge.
Velly interesting, we’rre all going to the Robotham crime class on Sat, 10am. Perhaps we could lunch after that and dicsuss other plans. My other workshop in Sunday withFrenkel at 9.30.
I really thought hard about the masterclass on Thursday – it looked great but I can’t afford it.
See you at SLQ 1B on Sat at 10am!
Sounds like a plan. Graham and I are both doing the Jeremy Fisher workshop at 2pm but that gives us time for a quick bite.
Alternative would be an early brekkie beforehand if you have lots to report! Any news on the submission front?
Such a good idea. I looked at the program again and had D’OH! moment so I booked the Jeremy Fisher workshop too. It’s only moneeeee.
Nothing to reprt on the submission. not a thing……sigh….
terry
Hee hee – it’ll be like Bribie all over again… except without the beach and the rest of the gang and the badminton.
And don’t fret about the submission, no news is good news
awww, i’m not going and will miss out! oh well, have a coffee for me anyway. by the way, terry, great to hear from you again. was wondering how you’re going with your submission – as well as everyone else who submitted theirs! have my fingers and toes crossed.
